he didn’t come to fortree often at all. his job had rarely ever brought him here, but today, he had come on a very specific call. his expertise had been requested. some mysterious researcher, talking about a disappearing temple.[break][break]

it was a call that had seemed bogus from the start, and one that he answered alone, knowing well what might happen. they could jump him once, but twice?[break][break]

he arrived at the edge of the woods in fortree, only wondering: why here? why not burn his house and kidnap him while he slept, and then make a whole scene out of it? where were the theatrics?[break][break]

on top of everything, it pissed him off that they knew he was stupid enough to come.[break][break]

he pushed through the leaves, and made his way deeper and deeper, into green shadows and filtered light. rather than darting around anxiously, his gold stare remained dead ahead, though he expected to find nothing in front of him. most certainly, he thought, whatever it was, it would come from behind.[break][break]

a keen eye watched his back from a distance, his fearow perched high in the forest’s canopy.

The forest was eerily silent, not a single other bird or Pokémon in it's vicinity. A nasty scent was spreading through the air that was meant to deter people from venturing further in. However, it seemingly was not going to work on this individual as they seemed determined to continue to push through [break][break]

several cutieflies spot the intruder of the realm and flying away quickly as soon as they spot him in a panic. However after a few moments of silence, they buzzed back towards Boruta and began to unleash a barrage of stringy STICKY WEBS to try and restrain him until he arrived.

the cutiefly descended, webs hindering his steps. considering the circumstance, he assumed they were not wild.[break][break]

a pokeball released his aerodactyl. the rays of a supersonic swirled pink towards the bug-types, before it flew further down to pull the ranger from the webs and into the air, out of the obtacle’s reach.[break][break]

behind them, the light of fearow’s power glowed, delivering a mirror move in the form of sticky webs back on the cutiefly horde, hoping to slow them as the two flying-types sped off through the trees, in search of whoever awaited them there.[break][break]

”you gonna show your face?” he called, bellowed over sharp wind.

The cutieflies all shout as they flop onto the floor, they weren't particularly powerful which is why they often attacked in a swarm, however something strange happened. When they would make contact with the wood of the trees, they'd vanish suddenly as if the tree itself consumed them. [break][break]

Moment's later a shadow figure jumps down attempting to grapple onto one of the birds that threatens to go too far into the forest. Regardless if he lands on the bird or not he crashes into the floor, destroying some of the flooring of the forest, causing some trees to toppel behind him and form an x that blocked the way forward. His red eyes peering through his wolf mask looking at the man before him. [break][break]

"Leave." he says as he extends a hand forward and the trees in the are began to move, slowly creeping in towards Bo to grapple onto him as if the trees themselves were alive.

the shadowy figure dropped onto his fearow, knocking it downward with a screech. his aerodactyl splayed its wings, struggling to stop short of crashing into the barricade that had suddenly appeared.[break][break]

bo was thrown from its back, though able to grab onto a thin branch that broke his fall a bit—but promptly snapped. [break][break]

on the ground, he winced as he got to his feet, glaring at the wolf mask.[break][break]

”answers my question, i guess.”[break][break]

just one person, then? how good were they?[break][break]

his brow furrowed in confusion at the request. ”huh?”[break][break]

the trees moved, reaching for him, and it wasn’t quite like any pokémon attack he’d seen before. it dawned on him what this meant, and he realized he had perhaps made a very bad decision.[break][break]

”okay! i’m leaving!”[break][break]

but the forest was already reaching for him, attempting to trip him up. his aerodactyl’s stone edge blocked them off with rock that jutted up from the earth, buying him swift strides in the other direction.
